1: Vessels with an aluminum toe rail.
Many aluminum toe rails have slots on sixteen-inch
centers. If this is the case on your vessel then the self-locking snaps on The Step will attach directly to your toe rail. No additional mounting attachments are
required.
We have encountered some vessels with toe rail slots on
different centers. In this case The Step is is mounted
by drilling either one or more 1/2" mounting holes in your toe rail on 16" centers at the desired locations.

2: Vessels with an external T-track.
T-track
comes in two widths, 1" and 1-1/4". Determine the width of your outboard T-Track and install two appropriately sized Genoa
Track Slides with spring-loaded pin-stops at the desired location on your track.
The self-locking snaps on The Step attach to the semi-circular bail loops on the track slide.
For 1" T-track use Ronstan Model RF985, Schaefer Model 17-59
or ABI Model 2102SS
For 1-1/4" T-track use Ronstan Model RF699, Schaefer Model
72-43 or ABI Model 2103SS

3: Vessels without either an aluminum toe rail or T-track.
If your vessel has neither an aluminum
toe rail nor an outboard T-track then the solution is to install a pair of 2-hole pad eyes on 16" centers atop the toe rail
at the desired gate locations -port, starboard or both.
We supply stainless steel pad eyes with a 3-1/8" x 1" oblong base and a
5/16" bail loop rated for use with The Step.
Schaefer makes a stainless steel pad eye, Part No 78-01 with 3" x 1" oblong
base and a ¼" bail which can also be used for this application.
